Fabulous Findings for August

Can’t believe we’re already in August. It feels like New Year’s eve was only yesterday. Yet, here we are.  And just like any other month, I have a little list of things I would love to have in my home. Or in this case, visit. Gymshark Utra Seamless Set Since I started running, I got myself one pair leggings and one windjacket. I didn’t want to buy more because knowing myself, I wasn’t sure I was gonna enjoy it. I had already bought a pair of somewhat expensive sneakers due to my knees, we had to limit the spending somewhere. But I’ve been running for 2 months now and I think I deserve some new additions to my running gear. Reuseable waterbottle For my new (ginger)water addiction. Stay hydrated in style. If you scroll through the comments, you can see people repeatedly asking where she got her blouse from. Including …

5 Pink blazer dresses to die for

Almost 2 months ago I attended the wedding of my lovely cousin. I had been looking forward to her wedding for quite some time, but I hadn’t prepared my wardrobe for it. I had no clue what to wear and to be honest, I wasn’t gonna spend too much money on a dress because it would just end in the back of my closet and probably never be worn or even seen again. So, my first idea was to borrow a dress from my sister. Problem is: we have entirely different body types and entirely different tastes. I knew this was a risk, but she has sooooo many clothes. Something had to work out. It didn’t. As always, I ended up looking like Cinderella’s stepsister trying on the glass shoe. Only one of the dresses was a meh, but it wasn’t a full on yasssss. It was a blazer dress in dusty pink. Dusty pink is perfect for my doll-like sister. Not so much for me. The fit was good tho. So we made it …

Oh, so The Little Mermaid got you pressed?

Whew! After years we are finally getting a black Disney princess in a live-action movie and it seems like a big part of the world is pressed. In case you missed it, Halle Bailey -not to be confused with Halle Berry- has been cast as Ariel for the live action movie The Little Mermaid. When I saw the news, my little Joey started dancing in circles. Even tho The Little Mermaid was one of the last Disney movies I got to see, the mermaid feeling was real. And now, somebody is realizing the dreams many of us had as little girls. All princesses I got to see when growing up were white except Jasmine. When Pocahontas came along, she instantly became my favorite until I grew up and got to hear the real story. Childhood ruined. Then we got Esmeralda, but she wasn’t much of a princess. And then finallyyyyyyyy, we got princess Tiana. By the time she came along, I was already believing that girls like me could never be a Disney princess. The …

January in lettered tiles

January: looking back

To all those who experienced January as a long ass year, congratulations! You’ve made it to February! As you might have known, I had some goals set for last month. Phew, where to begin? 24 Books goal Well for starters, I didn’t manage to read two books last month. I did manage however to finish one, which I also wrote about. Currently reading book #2: The little black book by Otegha Uwagba. In all honesty, had it been in English, I’d finished long time gone. It’s not the most complicated or thickest book. I just have a harder time getting through books written in Dutch. But we’re still only in February! Can I still reach the 24 books by the end of 2019? We’ll see… How did it go with the working out, you ask? *Scratches head* I haven’t been on the mat for a week…Yes, today it has been a week. Which means I haven’t done yoga nor any other exercises for a week. Meaning, the muscles are shrinking bit by bit again. I will have …

45 Eye-opening quotes from “The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck”

For this year, one of my goals is to read at least 24 books. Which basically means reading 2 books per month. The first book I chose to read this year was in line with one of my other goals: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. The reason I chose this book is because -get ready for the cliché- I really want to achieve bigger things in life. However, the thoughts of these things I wish to achieve, in combination with social media immediately get me overwhelmed, anxious and depressed. In that order. To the point that I’ll just have a glass of wine and hide in bed instead. And all because I have too much fucks to give. In all honesty, I hadn’t read any reviews on this book and actually thought it would be another self-help book that would tell me how capable I am of achieving marvelous things in life as long as I cared less about what people think. Boy, was I wrong. Is it a self-help …
